In Defense of Humanity.

We, who witness this every day, can affirm that there are people who exude art in abundance. So, even at the risk of stating the obvious, we advocate for—and hope that—creative work does not fall into the hands of that “cyber-churros factory” known as AI.

Don’t get us wrong—it’s a tool that fascinates and unsettles us in equal measure. The 3-year-olds that we still are deep down are blown away by the capabilities their silicon counterparts can display in just a fraction of a second. They thoroughly enjoy learning, feeling like the world is at their fingertips, and knowing that anything is possible.

They also fear that such immense power could fall into the wrong hands. With great power comes great responsibility, and responsibility in this area involves strengthening legislation, ethical standards, and climate awareness.

As for whether we’re worried about how the job market is evolving: let’s just say yes, obviously, but at the same time, we know that our industry is used to uncertainty. We handle it well. We navigate it with grace and flair. Although sometimes we lose our cool a little bit, too—because that’s only human.

And so far, every time we’ve asked our Chata for casting suggestions, she’s suggested people who are dead. Just as dead as those AI-generated characters (the shoddy kind, the ones anyone can access and that are used to cut costs), with those empty, soulless, aimless, erratic, lost stares. So for now, we’re going to keep leading this operation, where we need blood flowing through our veins. And we hope you do, too.
